Clean slate’ is good legislation

Gov. Pat Quinn recently signed legislation that would erase the arrest records of many juveniles, giving young people are better chance to overcome the stigma of these records and to gain employment.
The legislation, which was aimed at youth issues in the Chicago area but will benefit young people across the state, allows juveniles a “clean slate,” when they turn 18.
