“Transforming Juvenile Probation: A Vision for Getting it Right” from the Annie E. Casey Foundation presents a vision for transforming juvenile probation into a focused intervention that promotes personal growth, positive behavior change and long-term success for youth who pose significant risks for serious offending. The report describes how and why systems must reimagine the most common disposition in juvenile justice to get better outcomes for young people and posits that juvenile probation that successfully helps youth grow and achieve long-term success “requires fewer youth on probation and fundamental changes that transform probation into a focused and effective intervention.”
