Of all the trouble Illinois juveniles can get into, committing a sex crime is relatively infrequent. The numbers may surprise you. The Illinois Juvenile Justice Commission’s new report, “Improving Illinois’ Response to Sexual Offenses Committed by Youth,” takes a look. Chairman and retired judge George Timberlake of Mount Carmel says kids who do this typically do it just once, and respond to treatment.
