A 17-year-old boy who police say pointed a gun at officers in the Fuller Park neighborhood Thursday evening and was shot by police during a foot chase has been charged, officials said.

The shooting happened about 6:40 p.m. in an alley behind the 4400 block of South Princeton Avenue, authorities said.

The boy has been cited as an juvenile with felony aggravated assault with a firearm of a peace officer, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm, as well as misdemeanor resisting an officer, according to a release Sunday from the Chicago Police Department Office of News Affairs.
