Improving Outcomes for LGBTQ Youth in the Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice Systems

The Center for Juvenile Justice ReformFosterClub, and Impact Justice hosted this two-part webinar series on how to improve outcomes for lesbian, gay, bisexual, questioning, gender nonconforming, and transgender youth in the juvenile justice and child welfare systems.

The webinars highlighted new research on how LGBTQ youth are overrepresented in the population that crosses from child welfare to juvenile justice, and discussed findings from an evaluation of FosterClub, a culturally responsive leadership program for youth in the child welfare system. These webinars featured panelists who offered recommendations for policy and practice, including a youth who shared important insights.
